SVG Open 2005
Exchanging between different (technical) graphics editor is not always that easy. You're often quite locked down to a certain (expensive) suite. And if you then want to use the result in a report, website or animation it usually means a lot more hassle at least.
That's why the W3c, analog to HTML, has developed the free SVG: "Scalable Vector Graphics".
Most graphics suites support this format, if not, they probably will soon. Also, you can directly work in the source code (plain text) if you like (think "view source" in webpages).
The IntelliCAD Consortium, with members like Solid Works, has recently announced it will support SVG.
And also within the Netherlands there are CAD-companies with the broad spectrum of companies that use SVG.
Actually, Enschede is this year's 'SVG capital of the world', cause SVG Open 2005 takes place at the University of Twente.

Het IntelliCAD Consortium, met leden als o.a. Solid Works, heeft recentelijk nog aangekondigd SVG te gaan ondersteunen. En ook binnen Nederland zijn er CAD-bedrijven binnen het brede spectrum van bedrijven dat SVG gebruikt. Sterker nog, Enschede is dit jaar de 'SVG capital of the world', want SVG Open 2005 vindt op de UT
plaats.
